The Brief.

‘Spark to Solution’. DSM-Firmenich Biomedical produces biomaterials for use in a wide gamut of products within medicine and healthcare, but they are so much more than their products.

At its core, DSM-Firmenich Biomedical partners with companies in the healthcare space to bring innovative devices and therapies to life so people can move, heal, and live better. Fingerpaint asked us to look at how to bring to life these materials in a human form, creating a seamless relay of energy representing the forward motion of ideas and inspiration that makes customers believe that DSM Biomedical is their partner to unlock the body’s untapped potential.

Our Approach

After being supplied a clear brief and some suggestions of what actions the characters involved could perform for various forms of bio-materials, we began crafting a narrative sequence that fluidly moved between different biomaterials. Creating an energy that started with and initial spark and ran through the whole film we ensured that the pace kept the viewer engaged. Working closely with the in-house team at Fingerpaint we developed the storyboard and key frames for stills into an effective and efficient sequence.

Clearly identifying what was expected from the client at each stage of the process was key to ensuring they understood and had confidence in reaching the final product. The partnership between Mainframe and Fingerpaint worked on every level.

The Result.

Everyone was extremely happy with the result, a new and different approach for DSM that they were really proud of. The film has been well received and was recently awarded a Manny for Best Corporate Branding Campaign.
